June and July Update

Wow, it's been two months since I last blogged. But that's because I've been so busy since then.. and still am! I figured I could squeeze in time for an update :). . .

So what happened in June? OF COURSE, Andrew's first Father's day!!! I wanted to make it as special as I could. Now, I'm a SAHM so I don't have all the money in the world to buy him a big expensive gift like he got me for Mother's day... but that's not what these special days are for anyways right?! I went ahead and made one of those Shutterfly albums with pictures of JUST Jordan and him :). He loved it! Just to see Jordan from birth until now in those pictures was amazing. What made it even more special were the few pictures of Andrew holding Jordan when he got sick to when he was recovering in the hospital. . . it just makes you appreciate life when you remember how precious it is.

So what else has happened? Hmmm, oh yeah.. I passed my NCLEX! I actually prepared myself this time. When I took it the first time two years back after I graduated nursing school, I didn't study. I guess I thought, well, I graduated so I'm ready... NOT! The first time I took the exam, I answered ALL 265 questions!! This time, I only answered the minimum amount of 75 :), which means I did AWESOME! GYEAH! I want to give thanks to my dad who paid a whopping $500 so that I could take the Kaplan review course which helped out so much. And I thank God. I truly believe that God has plans for everyone. I don't know exactly what he has in store for me.. but I do know that I didn't pass the first time FOR A REASON. I got pregnant a month after my exam with my precious baby boy. Now that I passed, I'm ready to get started on my career so that I can give my children everything they deserve. I hope it all works out now that we're moving too. Either way, I leave it all up to Him.

Speaking of this move, it is confirmed. We are moving to Scott AFB in Illinois! I'm so very excited to get to this place we keep hearing is beautiful. I'm definitely going to miss some things about Vegas... but this HEAT is NOT one of them. Vegas has amaaaazzzinnnggg food for one, dry heat, beautiful mountains surrounding the city, and never ending things to do. Okay, those never ending things aren't necessarily family friendly... but still haha. That is exactly why we're ready for Illinois. We may be in a small town, but I know it's fit for families raising children. Plus, we won't be far from St. Louis, MO if we do want to explore the city. Oh and how can I forget? Vegas is THE PLACE for reunions! I mean, so many family and friends come to this city for so many reasons and yet, we get to see them :). I was able to bump into a few friends from Japan that I haven't seen in over 10 years! How cool is that? Kathleen Almario, Danni Munson, Ray Albano, Gizelle Monteclaro.. I missed these people & would've loved to see more. Like I said before, Japan has a special place in my heart and so do my Japan people :).

And lastly, Jordan's first 4th of July. Holidays have more meaning and are so much more fun to celebrate now that we have a little one of our own to enjoy it with. We stayed at the Stratosphere and explored the Bellagio, gambled a bit and lost haha, and watched fireworks on base. Jordan is still too young to really understand, so he didn't care much for the fireworks... but we had a great time taking it all in.

Wow, I better stop here. I'll be surprised if you even read this! I have to get some rest so that I have energy to organize our stuff for this move, and of course.. chase the rugrat around haha. But, I'll be back! Peace & Love!
